John Schlenz - Trombone

John Schlenz, a fine trombonist, earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in music from Cal State University in Los Angeles. He is a former high school music teacher and school administrator. He has led several small brass ensembles, has played in bands and small groups for over forty years, and has worked often in recording studios in the Los Angeles area.

His involvement in music groups has given him opportunity to play his instrument throughout the US, Canada and in several South American countries. 

Currently, he is playing trombone and arranging for two brass ensembles, as well as playing regularly with the Straight Ahead Big Band and the SABB jazz combo. In addition, much of his time is spent in preparing MIDI music backgrounds. When he is not playing music, John is usually found on the golf course.
